Boston has changed much over the years! The last time we were here was in 1991 when we took our east coast road trip with the girls. Kathy remembers walking the Freedom Trail and visiting the Public Library. Alex remembers touring the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides). We're sure we have pictures of that prior year visit in a box somewhere.

Many years ago, Alex attended several two week classes at MIT conducted by John Donovan. This was when computer programming was just beginning. Each two week emersion class was probably equivalent to a college semester. If you throw enough mud against the wall, some of it is bound to stick! LOL

Since we only had a few hours, we decided to ride the Hop On Hop Off which included a harbor cruise to get an overview of how things had changed. The first thing we noticed was how many visitors and tourists there were! There were several cruise ships in port with us in addition to many locals. There was a group of non-active duty Marines who were marching through the streets, plus there were other ideological groups expressing their peaceful opinions.

The stop that most interested us was the Cassin Young destroyer. It was the last ship that was hit by a Kamikaze during World War II. Our friend Ed Farnsworth was stationed on such a ship. Vietnam veterans will recognize the decorations on the ship.
