Just a reminder that U-Hack membership is free. I manage U-Hack as a hobby to keep me busy. Your fee for each tournament is what the course charges us, plus our betting.
I collect tournament fees from players and make a single payment to the course. This avoids long lines in the pro shop which we use as a negotiating tool. I WILL NOT pay the course for you if you don't let me know you are present, even if you have prepaid. Please, let me know you have arrived.
If you must cancel (even the morning of play), just call or text me at 602-909-0731. No need for an excuse. You'll get your money back. But, give me as much notice as possible to make adjustments.
I send out emails to 50+ players to sign up for tournaments. Click on the Survey Monkey link in the email to let me know if you are playing or not. Or, you can just reply to the message without going to Survey Monkey. I will follow up with an email or text message about 2 weeks before an event to those who have not responded. Let me know if you don't want to receive U-Hack emails in the future.
U-Hack handicaps are based only on scores in U-Hack events. We'll accept USGA handicaps for individuals in their first event, but they will play with a U-Hack handicap in their second event. For those without a sanctioned handicap, we'll use the Peoria system and they will play with a U-Hack handicap in the third event.
Our rules are similar to those when you play with your buddies in a casual round. The main difference is THERE ARE NO GIMMIES OR ROLLING THE BALL OVER. Once you reach the green you MUST putt everything out. Also, count all your strokes. It might be wise for someone to keep a backup scorecard to verify scores.
Rolling Hills on November 14th is finalized. It's only $46 ($40 if you want to walk). This includes our betting! There will be execution contests on all 18 holes that could pay up to $20 each, and we'll pay for 2 places low gross and 2 places low net. All this stuff is worth your last chance at 2021 GOTY points. Plus you get a chance to win a twosome of golf. Plus you get to share any winnings from a lottery ticket. Survey Monkey will be out next week. WHEW!
